Theology and Religious Studies 2.0
My PhD project is about the way theology and religious studies are related, not just theoretically, but also at the level of actual practice. This is why I have opted for case-based research of three case studies in Northwestern Europe, namely the KU Leuven, Münster Universität, and King’s College, London.
The situated practices of theology and religious studies in these contexts are then related to the larger theoretical debates about their academic nature, their mutual relationship, and their place at the university. By doing so, the project may hopefully contribute to the flourishing of both disciplines and on their fruitful (inter)disciplinary continuance in the future.
This project is part of the research project The Future of Academic Theology. My supervisors are prof. dr. Gijsbert van den Brink, dr. Klaas Bom (PThU), and prof. dr. Matthias Smalbrugge.
